Greetings! It’s very apparent by my URL that I am Jonathan Woods. I’m a 26-year old lover of life nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in beautiful Virginia. I’m a musician, photographer, network engineer and an absolute life-a-holic. I wanted to create an online home free from the confines of vicious sexual and toxic ads from villains like Myspace and Facebook. I believe I have done so.
In my twenty-six years of life I’ve experienced, first hand, the sights and sounds of more than twenty states in our great union, the Caribbean, United Kingdom, South Africa, Mozambique and Malawi. Though where I’ve traveled is a drop in the bucket compared to other members of my immediate family, and friends alike, I feel myself very privileged to have gone where I have, and to live where I do.
I’m a lover of Jesus Christ, and what He did to make way for my life. I attend Grace Community Church in Winchester,VA. I have been a part of Grace since the beginning. My father is the pastor. I have served on various ministries from being the full-time drummer to being a part of the Sunday morning production team, and for over a year I was the acting Senior High youth director for the church.
For over two years I have been with (and am now engaged to) the most amazing and beautiful girl, Yvonne. She is and has been the best friend I always dreamed of having. She cares for me as no one has. I cannot fathom my life without her now.
I am currently a full-time network engineer at James Madison University. I have been there for three years. Before then I was a telecommunications engineer for a community college about an hour north of where I live now. I worked there for over three years.
Also, I was once a member of a nationally-touring indie rock band called ‘Yours For Mine‘. In August of 2008 we were signed to Blood & Ink Records. In January 2009 we released a full-length record entitled “Dear Children”. It was an incredible (almost) five years, and I wouldn’t trade any of the experiences for all the money in the world. It’s something I’m sure I’ll miss immensely.
I’d like to thank you for reading about me and taking the time to learn. If you never hear anything productive or insightful from me, please hear this, as I live my life by it:
“In all that you do and have experienced, never forget to learn“
God Bless,
-jw
